Sew Cozy Quilts

Alaskan Artist Kathy Sarns
created this design for her friend
Carolyn Lyman’s
Alaskan Longarm quilting business:
“Sew Cozy Quilts”

The Lyman family live 300 miles west of Anchorage at their gold mine, accessible only by airplane.

Carolyn is a Registered Nurse, bush pilot, home-school teacher, gold miner, gardener & homemaker, who hangs the clothes high enough to avoid wandering bears and other wildlife.

A normal day’s work for her would be an adventure of a lifetime for most. When you wrap yourself in one of her handmade quilts you can feel the loving energy expressed through Carolyn’s talented hands and all that has gone into its creation in the wild heart of Alaska.

Artist Kathy Sarns, her husband, numerous foster & adopted dogs, and one cat, work and live in the mountains on the wild edge of Anchorage. An award winning artist, Kathy's art is on almost every Alaskan vehicle, as she is the designer of the Alaskan Gold Rush Centennial License plate!
Creating unique artwork from her adventures in Alaska since 1982, Kathy’s artistic images express the magic spirit connection and her love of all creatures great and small that we share this planet with.
